Saucony Kinvara 9 Review
The Kinvara 9 is a great update to a line of shoes that helped start a revolution in low drop, medium cushioned light weight trainers. The ride has gotten a little firmer but the gate cycle has become smoother and more enjoyable to run. An entirely new upper with mesh up front and a structured rear foot that finally includes a version of ProLock that works invisibly every time as it can stretch and move with the foot as you move. There is little to no traction here the Kinvara is a pure road shoe that does not fair well on other surfaces wet or dry. There is less wear pattern rubber in this version and with even more exposed out sole the shoe will likely see it's best performance under 400KM for most runners.
This Kinvara can accommodate a heaver rear foot strike but it shines for those who run lighter and further up on their feet. While not inherently unstable, utilizing a fairly wide platform the Kinvara does not offer a lot of support structure throughout the upper for those that might need it. If you have been a fan of the K shoe in the past this is the shoe that we were asking for or at least the best version yet. A great daily trainer for some and a powerful speed day and race option for most.
